Leaf Collection

Leaf collection is conducted twice a year, spring and fall (see schedules below).  The City’s garbage/recycler, Advanced Disposal Services is contracted to conduct the leaf collection.

*NEW* for Fall 2016 - a simplier process has been created to help residents understand when their collection will take place.  Now, based on where you live within the map below (click on the map below for a larger view), your pickup will be on the same weekday starting the week of October 17th and ending the week of November 21st.  That's three extra pickups compared to the previous program!  The last week of pickup includes Thanksgiving on November 24th.  During that week, the area scheduled for pickup for Thursday (green) will be picked up on Friday and the area scheduled for Friday (pink) will be picked up on Saturday.

Please rake leaves onto the street, 12 inches away from the gutter no later than 7:00 a.m. on your scheduled pickup day. Do not place them in bags or boxes. Advanced Disposal will pick up the leaves from the gutter.

If you have any questions concerning leaf collection contact Elkhorn Public Works at 262-723-2223.

The City of Elkhorn also maintains a drop off site for leaves and brush. To learn more visit: http://www.cityofelkhorn.org/CityServices/PublicWorks/YardWasteAndGrassClippings.asp

2017 Spring Leaf Collection

A “spring cleanup” will be available to residents. This will allow residents the ability to rake, thatch and conduct general yard cleanup early in the spring. Advanced Disposal will be collecting and disposing of the materials placed in the street gutter. Grass clippings and walnuts can be raked in with the leaves. Information will be provided when it is available.
