Police Department & Municipal Court Begin Operations in New Facility

On Wednesday, August 25th, the Police Department and Municipal Court moved their operations into the west wing of the Walworth County Government Center, 100 W. Walworth Street.  A public open house is scheduled for Saturday, September 18th from 10 am to Noon.  Members of the Police Department will be providing guided tours of the new facility during the event.

2010-2011 Fall/Winter Activity GuideRegistration for all Fall/Winter Programming is Open

The Parks & Recreation Department has begun registration for all of their Fall/Winter programs.  Registration will continue through August 27th for youth flag football.

E-Cycle Wisconsin

Wisconsin's electronics recycling law was signed by Governor Doyle in October 2009.  The law establishes a statewide program, now called the E-Cycle Wisconsin program, to collect and recycle  certain electronic devices.

Elkhorn Police Join Statewide Crackdown

The Elkhorn Police Department will mobilize along with other law enforcement agencies throughout Wisconsin for the annual "Drunk Driving. Over the Limit. Under Arrest." crackdown on impaired motorists from August 20 to September 6.

Treatment Plant Open House

The Walworth County Metropolitan Sewerage District invites the public to an open house on Saturday, September 11th between 9:00 am and 2:00 pm.  This event is free to the public.  There will be tours, informative talks by staff, equipment demonstrations and refreshments for everyone.  The event will be held rain or shine.

Statewide Smoking Ban

The "statewide smoke-free workplace law" became effective on July 5th at 12:01 am.  All workplaces including bars and restaurants must be smoke-free.  Additional information including a state law factsheet, a sample sign and the complete Act 12, Smoking Ban Law are available on-line. Mandatory Auto Insurance

Mandatory auto insurance for Wisconsin drivers went into effect on June 1, 2010.  Wisconsin joins 48 other states in mandating auto insurance coverage.
