Hiring New Employees

When hiring new employees, even part-time and seasonal, you need to let Cairie at City Hall know about the new hire; including the start date, position title, pay rate, number of hours to work per week and term of employment.  Then set up a time with Cairie to bring the new employee in to sign the new hire paperwork.  Be sure to remind the employee to bring their driver's license AND social security card or birth certificate.  If your new hire is under 18 years old, a worker permit (obtainable from their high school) also needs to be obtained.  The City will reimburse the employee for the permit fee.  It is important that this is completed in a timely manner to avoid penalties for late new hire filings!

City Holiday Party

Mark your calendars and plan to join your fellow employees for the fun and food on Friday, December 18th from noon-2:00 p.m. at the Library's community center.  Each department is asked to bring a festive holiday dessert, that also reflects their department.  The department with the best dessert wins a prize!  This year the party will be a potluck.  The City will provide hamburgers and when you RSVP you will also sign up to bring something.  Please RSVP by December 12th.  Please RSVP by going to: City Holiday Party RVSP/Potluck.  Questions? Ask Wendy at 741-5114 or Cairie at 741-5112.  See you there!
